Brachiosaurus — Full Skeleton
A neck raised to meet the canopy.
A life-size cast of one of the tallest dinosaurs known, its forelimbs longer than its hind limbs lifting the shoulders and tilting the whole frame upward into a sustained, deliberate reach. Stretching to roughly twenty-five metres and carrying its head some twelve metres above the ground, it commands an atrium the way the living animal commanded a Jurassic floodplain, the column of the neck drawing the eye skyward.
Assembled and finished by hand, every vertebra and rib is detailed to hold its character at both gallery distance and from the floor below.
Brachiosaurus lived in the Late Jurassic, roughly 154 to 150 million years ago, in what is now western North America.
Unusually among dinosaurs, its front legs were longer than its back legs, giving the body a sloping, giraffe-like stance.
Mass estimates generally fall in the range of 30 to 50 tonnes, placing it among the largest land animals known.
