This cast captures a single small tooth, its crown a flattened triangular blade fringed with coarse serrations suited to shredding plant matter. It is an intimate study, the kind of object that rewards a hand and a close lamp rather than a far wall.
The casting is finished by hand to preserve the crisp denticles along the cutting edge and the subtle wear of a working tooth.
Pachycephalosaurus bore small, leaf-shaped teeth with coarse serrations consistent with a largely herbivorous or omnivorous diet.
Its front teeth were smaller and more pointed than the leaf-shaped cheek teeth, hinting at a more varied diet than plant matter alone.
Pachycephalosaurus shared its Late Cretaceous floodplains with Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops in the closing chapter of the age of dinosaurs.
