Triceratops — Full Skeleton
Twenty-six feet of armoured browser, standing as it lived.
The complete articulated skeleton spans some twenty-six feet from beak to tail, posed four-square on pillar-like limbs that once carried several tons of muscle and bone. The towering frilled skull anchors the composition, drawing the eye forward along a spine engineered for low, deliberate grazing across the Late Cretaceous floodplains.
Assembled and finished by hand, the mount is balanced so the whole animal reads as poised mid-stride, a presence that fills a gallery rather than merely occupying it.
Triceratops lived at the very close of the Cretaceous, around sixty-six million years ago, among the last dinosaurs before the mass extinction.
An adult is estimated to have weighed in the region of six to nine tons, with much of that bulk carried over the forelimbs and head.
Its tightly packed dental batteries held hundreds of teeth, continually replaced, that sheared through tough low-growing vegetation.
